Tatopani is popular among the people of Nepal who wants a refreshing bath in the hot water as it is said to have medicinal and healing powers. The healing effects that the hot springs have because of the high mineral content in the water which makes it popular and its benefits include blood purification through elimination of toxins in the body and reactivation of delayed metabolism in those who are suffering from Rheumatism. It also acts as a muscle relaxant for stiffness and rehabilitation. The reasons for the natural hot springs are the tectonic movements deep below the earth’s surface that produces geothermal energy. The underground sources of water come into contact with the heated rocks which can be seen inside the temple warm significantly and rise up sometimes reaching to the boiling point in the areas with volcanic activity.Tectonic movements deep below the earth’s surface are responsible for the geothermal energy that forms hot springs such as Tatopani. Underground sources of water coming into contact with the heated rocks warm significantly and rise up, sometimes reaching boiling point in areas with volcanic activity.

Why Tatopani???
Sulfur is excellent for your skin. For example, sulfur-based face cream is helpful during those acne-prone teenage years. The minerals in the waters at Wilbur have positive therapeutic effects on skin disease, women's diseases, asthma, neuralgia, arteriosclerosis, rheumatism and shoulder, neck and wrist pains. They also have a detoxifying and mucolytic effect. Sulfur is a mineral naturally occurring near hot springs and volcanic craters. The "rotten egg" smell of sulfur mineral baths is caused by sulfur dioxide gas escaping into the air. Sulfur has been used medicinally since ancient times, and it's contained in every cell in your body. It's a component of three different amino acids (the building blocks that make up protein). Approximately 0.25 percent of your total body weight is sulfur. It's most concentrated in keratin, which gives you strong hair, nails, and skin. And it's known as "nature's beauty mineral", because your body needs it to manufacture collagen, which helps with skin elasticity and keeps us young-looking.
Sulfur is primarily used to ease red, itchy skin. It also helps protect your body against toxins in the environment. In addition, people with arthritis may find pain relief from taking a soothing bath in hot sulfur springs. Sulfur aids in certain digestive disorders, especially acid reflux, indigestion made worse by milk, chronic diarrhoea and vomiting in the morning. It can also help gynecological problems such as premenstrual syndrome and menopausal discomforts. Soaking in a hot spring need not be solely reserved for a relaxing vacation or a weekend getaway. These mineral-rich baths offer a slew of natural health benefits you may not know about. The healing powers of hot springs have been used for thousands of years and are widely accepted in Europe and Japan as natural treatment options for various common ailments. The therapeutic use of water, or balneotherapy, could be just what the doctor ordered when it comes to relieving pain, stress, skin woes and more.

Briefly the importance can be stated as below:

Boosts Blood Circulation
The water found in natural hot springs contains a variety of different minerals, including calcium and sodium bicarbonate. When you bathe in a hot spring, your skin soaks in these minerals and your hydrostatic pressure rises. As this process continues, circulation and oxygen flow increases -- much like when you exercise. An oxygenated circulatory system is beneficial in keeping not only your heart, but your body's other vital organs and tissues, healthy and strong.

Reduces Stress, Promotes Sleep
Stress relief doesn’t have to come in the form of a pill. Excess stress can be remedied naturally by immersing your body in a hot-spring water bath. The minerals in the water can contribute to the psychological healing process, while heat relaxes tense muscles. Improved sleep can be an added benefit; when you soak in warm water, your body temperature rises, then quickly cools down when your bath is complete. This body-cooling process can help you relax and fall into a deeper sleep.

Relieves Pain, Naturally
If you suffer from chronic muscle pain, arthritis or even fibromyalgia, soaking in a pool of hot-spring water can effectively improve pain. An Israeli study found in the journal "Rheumatology International," shows evidence that hot mineral baths may aid in pain relief and fibromyalgia fatigue. Additionally, when your body is submerged in hot-spring water, the buoyancy encourages freer movement by naturally supporting your joints.

Solves Skin Problems
When applied directly to the skin, mineral-rich hot-spring water can help to naturally relieve certain skin conditions. The high silica content found in hot springs can smooth and soften dry, rough skin. Similarly, the medicinal properties of the water's sulfur content can relieve uncomfortable eczema and psoriasis symptoms.
